Loganair has announced a significant new addition to its executive team, appointing aviation specialist Chris Harcombe as Director of Business Development – Charter & Non-Schedule. He will take up the newly created role on the 1st of December.
The position has been established to spearhead growth across Loganair ’s charter and non-scheduled flight operations. Harcombe will work closely with teams across the airline, as well as external partners, to identify new market opportunities, strengthen relationships, and develop tailored services for organisations across the UK and beyond. Loganair says the role will be central to supporting long-term, sustainable revenue growth.
Harcombe brings nearly two decades of experience in the UK regional aviation sector, over half of which has been in senior strategic roles. He spent more than 16 years at Doncaster Sheffield Airport, serving as Managing Director until its closure in 2022. Prior to that, he oversaw air service development from 2013, helping to deliver strong passenger and cargo growth, double passenger numbers, and elevate the airport into the UK’s top 10 cargo hubs.
His career also includes positions at Liverpool John Lennon, Teesside and London Heathrow airports. Most recently, he was Venue Director at The Murrayfield Experience, leading hospitality and food and beverage operations at Scottish Gas Murrayfield Stadium.
Speaking about his appointment, Harcombe said: “I’m delighted to be joining Loganair at a critical time for UK regional connectivity and to have the opportunity to be part of shaping the next phase of Loganair ’s development. Loganair fulfils a crucial role in connecting communities across the UK and beyond, and I’m proud to be joining a dedicated and dynamic team. I’m looking forward to strengthening existing partnerships and identifying new opportunities.”
Loganair CEO Luke Farajallah welcomed the appointment, saying: “We’re delighted to welcome Chris to the Loganair Executive Team. He brings exceptional experience in aviation, commercial development and customer‑focused innovation. His track record in driving growth and building partnerships across the UK aviation sector makes him an outstanding addition. As we strengthen and diversify our charter and non‑scheduled services, Chris’s insight will help us reach new markets and support the continued growth of the airline.”
The appointment follows a period of expansion for Loganair, which recently launched new routes connecting Jersey with Exeter, Bristol and Southampton, providing additional UK mainland links for islanders.
Earlier this year, Loganair was ranked second in Which?’s annual customer survey of short‑haul airlines, earning a 72% customer score and a five‑star rating for customer service. The airline was also named the most punctual UK carrier in Q2 2025 by the Civil Aviation Authority, with 86% of flights arriving and departing on time.
