Account Director – UK
New Today
You’re a natural communicator, a strategic thinker, and someone who brings clarity to complexity. You’ll play a key role in building our UK presence and shaping the brand direction for a major client partnership.
At Chello, we believe in creating a community of strong relationships, between both the people that we work with and with our clients. We’re passionate, creative, thoughtful, fuelled by teamwork, and above all, are committed to helping brands find their role in society, and together, building momentum.
About the role
Help shape something new — while working on something big. We’re looking for an Account Director to join us as one of the first UK hires at Chello — someone who’s excited by the chance to help grow something meaningful from the ground up.
You’ll hit the ground running with one of our flagship global clients — a leading marketing technology platform — managing a fast-paced, strategically rich account that spans brand, content, and digital execution across the EMEA region. This is a hands-on, high-trust role where you’ll act as the client’s go-to partner in the UK, working closely with their marketing, product, and partnerships teams, supported by a UK-based designer and Chello’s broader creative, strategy, and production team in Sydney.
We’re looking for someone who can move confidently between high-level strategy and detailed delivery. Someone who’s not just comfortable with complexity, but thrives in it. Who builds relationships fast, communicates clearly, and sees opportunity beyond the brief.
This is a part-time role (4 days per week), with the intention to grow into a full-time position as client needs and opportunities expand. You’ll also play a key role in helping grow our UK presence — leading client conversations, building partnerships, and spotting opportunities to bring in new work.
Do you have:
- Proven experience in a senior account management role within an agency — either as an Account Director, or a high-performing Senior Account Manager with the confidence and capability to step into Director-level responsibilities
- A strategic point of view in client conversations — not just managing the work, but helping shape it through creative and brand insight
- A strong track record of working with creative teams and managing client relationships
- Hands-on experience delivering integrated campaigns from briefing through to execution
- Comfort working in fast-paced, high-growth, or scale-up environments
- Confident and clear communication skills in client-facing settings
- The ability to collaborate effectively across time zones and lead remote teams
- Solid commercial acumen — confident with scoping, quoting, and managing budgets
- Experience presenting both creative and strategic work to clients
- Previous involvement in new business or pitch development (a bonus)
- Familiarity with B2B marketing — especially in SaaS or tech platforms (ideal, but not essential)
Are you comfortable with:
- Leading proposals, quotes, internal briefings, kick-off meetings, and project delivery
- Keeping work on time, on budget, and aligned with strategic intent
- Ensuring creative and strategic fidelity to the brief
- Presenting confidently to clients and contributing meaningfully to strategic discussions
- Tracking revenue pipeline and reporting progress against targets
- Identifying and nurturing growth opportunities within accounts
- Helping shape and implement internal and external tools and processes for better collaboration
You are:
- Always curious, hungry, straight-talking and just generally a good person to spend time with
- Passionate about creativity and take pride in your work, a stickler for the smallest things
- Able to work quickly and maintain composure in high-pressure work settings
- The proactive and forward-thinking type
- Love to collaborate, pushing the work to another level
- Calm under pressure, quick on your feet, and steady in fast-paced environments
- Comfortable operating in a two-person band (for now!) — you balance independence with staying connected
- Self-directed and organised — you know how to manage your own time, energy, and priorities
- You must already have the right to live and work in the UK
Sound a bit like you?
If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and pride yourself on your creative capabilities, then this one’s for you. At Chello, there’s also ample opportunity for those who want to invest in their own continual learning and development and clear lines of career progression.
The team is a pretty fab bunch too — if we do say so ourselves — you can check out the benefits and learn a little more about life at Chello too.
Must have full working rights in the UK.
