We are working with a leading organisation in the marketing and communications space to recruit an experienced Account Director. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives on building client relationships, overseeing complex campaigns, and ensuring delivery at the highest standard.

The Role

As Account Director, you will be responsible for managing key client accounts, driving campaign strategy and execution, and ensuring that all activity aligns with client objectives. You'll be the central point of contact, trusted advisor, and strategic partner - working across creative, digital, and paid media projects.

Key Responsibilities

Client Relationship Management

  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, building trust and ensuring their needs and objectives are met.
  • Maintain regular communication to provide updates, gather feedback, and ensure overall client satisfaction.
  • Foster long-term relationships, driving client retention and identifying opportunities to expand services.

Strategic Planning

  • Lead the planning and execution of integrated campaigns that deliver against client objectives.
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams - creative, strategy, development, and paid media - to ensure excellence in execution.
  • Anticipate market trends and provide proactive recommendations to clients.

Media Management

  • Partner with the media team to plan, buy, and optimise campaigns across social, search, display, and emerging platforms.
  • Analyse performance metrics (CPA, CTR, ROI) to ensure campaigns deliver measurable results.
  • Provide clients with clear media recommendations, balancing short-term wins with long-term growth strategies.
  • Stay ahead of platform changes, media innovations, and cultural trends to keep campaigns fresh and competitive.

Problem Resolution

  • Anticipate and identify potential challenges in campaigns or client relationships.
  • Implement timely and effective solutions to resolve issues while maintaining client confidence.

Reporting & Analysis

  • Deliver regular performance reviews and reports, translating campaign data into actionable insights.
  • Provide strategic recommendations based on analysis of trends, performance, and market context.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in account management, client services, or a related role in a marketing/advertising agency.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build lasting relationships.
  • Solid understanding of marketing strategy, campaign management, and performance metrics.
  • Hands-on experience with media planning/buying (social, search, display) a strong advantage.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a solutions-first mindset.
  • Strong organisational and project management abilities, with attention to detail.
  • Financial acumen, including experience in budgeting, forecasting, and profitability management.
