Associate Director, Business Development – EMEA EIPAF A leading international law firm is seeking an experienced Associate Director to lead Business Development for its EMEA Energy, Infrastructure, Project & Asset Finance (EIPAF) practice. This is a high-profile role within a global BD structure, offering significant responsibility, international scope and the opportunity to shape and deliver the regional strategy for one of the firm’s largest and most dynamic practices. As the senior BD lead for EMEA EIPAF, you will work closely with partners to drive strategic goals, strengthen client relationships, and position the practice for continued growth across key markets, including Europe, the Middle East and Africa. You will manage a London-based team, oversee dotted-line reports across major regional offices, and collaborate with colleagues across marketing, communications, and practice development to deliver impactful client programmes and high-quality pitch and campaign activity. Key responsibilities
Executing the EMEA business plan in alignment with the firm’s global strategy. Leading BD initiatives, regional team meetings and strategic away days. Overseeing pitches, proposals and client materials in collaboration with partners and lawyers. Driving profile-raising initiatives, thought leadership and cross-selling opportunities. Supporting client relationship development, including feedback programmes and priority client planning. Managing a London team of BD professionals and supporting colleagues across EMEA. Ensuring strong BD processes, systems and data management. Leading events, seminars, conferences and major directory and award submissions. Contributing to global BD projects as part of the firm’s senior leadership group. Partnering closely with global and regional marketing teams on integrated campaigns.
About You The firm is looking for a commercially minded BD leader with extensive experience in EIPAF or closely aligned sectors, particularly project finance. You will bring strong knowledge of the market, a collaborative and influential style, and proven team leadership experience within an international or professional services environment. Excellent communication skills, creativity, resilience and the ability to manage complex stakeholder groups are essential.
