TML Recruitment is partnered with a leading UK property consultancy seeking a commercially minded Valuation Surveyor to join their expanding Birmingham team. With a strong pipeline of public sector and institutional instructions the team is now looking to strengthen its delivery capacity.
This is a rare chance to join a well-established valuation function thats growing rapidly. The team has tripled in size since 2019 and continues to win major asset valuation contracts, with a third significant instruction expected imminently. Youll be joining a collaborative, high-performing group with a strong reputation across the Midlands and beyond.
WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING IN THIS ROLE?
Youll be involved in a broad range of valuation work, with approximately 80% commercial and 20% residential exposure. Projects include:
Mixed-use developments (e.g. leisure complexes, manor houses with residential flats above commercial units)
Commercial assets across retail, industrial, and office sectors
Residential portfolios, including social housing elements
Development land and strategic sites
Valuations are typically for public sector clients, secured lending, and asset reporting purposes. Average fees range from £2,000 to £3,000+, with excellent fee-earning potential across the patch.
WHAT ARE THE MAIN DUTIES?
Deliver Red Book valuations across a diverse asset base
Liaise with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams to ensure timely and accurate reporting
Contribute to business development activity, with support from senior leadership
Assist in mentoring junior team members
Maintain high standards of compliance and professional integrity
WHAT DO YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL?
MRICS qualified
Experience in commercial valuation (graduate to 2 years PQE ideal)
Strong report writing and analytical skills
Comfortable with client-facing work and BD activity
Knowledge of East Anglia, North Wales, and Midlands markets beneficial
Keen to work in a collaborative, high-performance environment
