Team members enjoy the autonomy to balance time between our Cambridge office, project sites, and remote work.If you’re looking to take the next step in your career with a company that values your expertise and growth, we’d love to hear from you.Key tasks and responsibilitiesLead in partnership with a team of Quantity Surveyors and Project Managers, reporting directly to the Executive Director, delivering cost consulting services for clients.Ensure clients achieve objectives through close teamwork, proactive cost control, and contractual advice.Manage clients and participate in profit and loss management for individual client accounts.Attend and/or chair meetings with clients.Prepare financial reports and oversee the work of junior staff.Lead on communication of project statuses with the client.Provide advice on contractors, procurement routes, cost and programme solutions.Advise on suitability and preparation of contract documents.Prepare management reports and monitor performance milestones and deliverables.Administer cost/variation procedures and carry out post-contract surveying duties, including variations, settlement of accounts, and disputes.Provide day-to-day cost management from estimate preparation and cost planning through to final account settlements.Mentor and develop junior staff within the Cambridge office and build strong client relationships to identify opportunities.Desired qualifications and experienceA relevant degree or master’s qualification in quantity surveying or a similar subject.Full membership of a relevant professional body such as RICS is desired.Experience working on historic and/or listed buildings is desirable.Ability to autonomously perform full pre and post-contract duties from conception through to final accounting.Strong cost planning skills and the ability to interpret drawings and considerations for historic projects beyond what is shown on drawings.Strong client-facing and stakeholder engagement skills, with experience leading traditional cost management services.Familiar with common forms of contract such as JCT and NEC.Who we areTSA Riley has a 130-year heritage dating back to 1890 when Henry Riley Esq first established a quantity surveying practice in London.
