Associate Director, Technology Evaluation – Radiopharmaceutical Innovation
We are seeking an experienced and forward‑thinking Associate Director, Technology Evaluation to join a growing, science‑driven client focused on transforming cancer diagnosis and patient management through innovative molecular imaging technologies.
About the Role
Reporting to the VP, Innovation & Strategy, this role will lead the identification, scientific assessment, and strategic evaluation of new radiopharmaceutical opportunities, with a focus on oncology. You will help shape the company’s R&D strategy by scouting emerging technologies, building academic collaborations, and assessing the potential of novel diagnostic and therapeutic agents. This is a unique opportunity to combine scientific expertise with strategic influence, driving the next generation of molecular imaging solutions from discovery to development.
Key Responsibilities
- Scout, evaluate, and prioritize new radiopharmaceutical technologies and product opportunities across oncology and related disease areas.
- Conduct scientific, technical, and IP landscaping to inform investment and partnership decisions.
- Collaborate closely with internal R&D teams and global innovation groups to shape early‑stage development strategies.
- Manage due diligence and gap analysis for prioritized external opportunities, coordinating with cross‑functional experts.
- Develop strategic academic and research collaborations, including joint grant‑funded initiatives.
- Maintain a strong understanding of emerging scientific and clinical trends in cancer diagnostics and imaging.
- Support internal portfolio planning by providing insights into competitive and adjacent technologies.
- Present findings clearly and credibly to senior leadership, contributing to high‑quality decision‑making.
Qualifications and Experience
- PhD (or equivalent experience) in life sciences, molecular imaging, pharmacology, or oncology‑related field.
- Strong experience in academic research or R&D within pharma or biotech, ideally with exposure to early‑stage development.
- Deep understanding of oncology biology, diagnostic imaging, and emerging therapeutic modalities.
- Experience in technology scouting, evaluation, or competitive intelligence within a scientific context.
- Track record of managing external collaborations or research partnerships.
- Excellent scientific communication, analytical thinking, and project management skills.
- Familiarity with radiopharmaceuticals or nuclear medicine is advantageous but not essential.
