A leading design-led architecture studio in Clerkenwell is looking for an experienced Associate Director to join its growing team. This senior role offers the opportunity to lead high-profile projects and help shape the future of the practice.

The Role

The successful candidate will oversee a portfolio of large-scale projects (typically £100m–£400m in construction value), lead multiple teams, and provide strategic input across all RIBA stages. They’ll play a key role in mentoring staff, managing client relationships, and ensuring exceptional design quality and delivery.

Key Requirements

Candidates should demonstrate:

• Proven experience leading large, complex projects

• Strong design and technical expertise

• Confidence presenting to clients, consultants, and planning officers

• Ability to manage teams and mentor junior staff

• Clear understanding of resource, programme, and fee management

• Excellent knowledge of UK Building Regulations, detailing, and materials

• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and experience overseeing Revit-based projects

• Excellent communication and leadership skills
