Job Description:
This role offers a significant opportunity to lead Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) for the South East Strategic Reservoir Option (SESRO), a landmark project near Abingdon involving a 150 million cubic metre reservoir. The project aims to secure water resources, enhance biodiversity through habitat creation, and deliver new leisure amenities. At Binnies, you'll join a multidisciplinary environmental team that values collaboration, innovation, and excellence in environmental practices, including digital EIA. The team is committed to delivering sustainable outcomes and holds the IEMA EIA Quality Mark, reflecting our dedication to quality in EIA services.
About the Role
The responsibilities include:
- Managing all stages of EIAs, including SEA, HRA, DCO, and planning permissions.
- Reviewing and approving environmental deliverables to ensure technical quality.
- Supporting business development and tender processes.
- Providing line management and mentoring within the environmental team.
- Assisting in recruitment efforts.
Qualifications/Requirements
The ideal candidate will have:
- An environmental-related degree.
- Chartered status with a relevant professional institute.
- Strong understanding of EIA, sustainability, and consenting processes.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
- People management and supervisory experience.
- Knowledge of consultancy commercial drivers, project, and budget management.
- Experience in client-facing roles and developing client relationships.
- A full UK driving license.
- Previous consultancy experience.
Experience with construction stage delivery is advantageous but not essential. We welcome applicants at Associate Director level and above, with flexible salary based on experience. The start date is flexible, and hybrid/flexible working arrangements are available.
