Salary up to £110,000, annual in arrears bonus up to c100% of base salary (for overperformance), plus a company car or car allowance plus excellent benefits.
Description
Our client, a leading asset financier, is seeking an additional Business Development Director to join their highly successful broker-centric mid ticket sales team.
You will help manage and grow key broker and introducer relationships. The ideal team member will have previous experience putting together new business proposals, conducting in-depth credit assessments, structuring transactions, and preparing compelling credit submissions, involving face-to-face meetings with the proposed borrower.
Experience in larger ticket asset finance is essential, with transactions typically ranging from £500k to £10m, and our client's sweet spot being transactions from £1m to £3m+.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and grow key broker and introducer relationships.
- Identify and establish new intermediary partnerships.
- Conduct initial assessments of proposals to determine suitability.
- Undertake customer visits and perform rigorous due diligence.
- Structure and price transactions aligned with risk appetite.
- Prepare and present credit applications to the board.
- Oversee documentation negotiation and the pay-out process.
- Maintain a high level of personal organisation and accountability.
Candidate Profile:
Preferred applicants will be based from Birmingham North, but we are happy to consider applicants based as far South as the M4, providing you are a very strong fit and are also willing and able to sustainably travel nationally to fulfil the role.
- You have extensive experience in UK middle-ticket leasing in a senior sales or credit-focused role.
- You can demonstrate an ability to originate and manage business through intermediaries.
- You have a deep understanding of credit risk, pricing, and commission structures.
- You possess strong analytical and credit assessment skills.
- You have a proven ability to structure complex transactions and negotiate legal documentation.
- You have excellent organisational skills with a methodical, detail-oriented approach.
- You have strong interpersonal and board-level negotiation skills.
- You will possess gravitas and presence and have the ability to command the room, gaining buy-in across a range of functions both externally and internally.
