The Role

We’re seeking a Business Development Director for UK and European Defence to lead our next phase of growth. This is a senior, high-impact role for someone who combines deep familiarity with defence and national security with the energy and agility of the technology sector.

Responsibilities

  • Shape and execute ExTrac’s growth strategy across UK and European defence.
  • Build trusted relationships with senior customer stakeholders and influencers.
  • Position ExTrac as the go-to decision intelligence partner for modern defence challenges.
  • Bring user needs back into product and data strategy, helping ExTrac stay ahead of market demand.
  • Speak the language of operators and engineers, win trust in high-stakes environments, and translate ExTrac’s technical edge into strategic advantage for customers.

Required Attributes

  • Proven success winning £multi-million opportunities in defence, intelligence, or security markets.
  • Deep domain knowledge of UK and European defence, procurement pathways, and decision-making cycles.
  • Strong relationships and extant networks across MoD, NATO, and allied defence ecosystems.
  • Technology fluency, ideally in AI, SaaS, or data analytics contexts.
  • Exceptional communicator, able to brief ministers, generals, and CTOs with equal confidence.
  • Commercial discipline, with a track record of driving pipeline growth and closing complex deals.
  • Candidates must hold a valid UK Security Clearance (e.g., SC, DV) or be eligible to obtain UK Security Clearance to be considered for this role.
