Overview
Business Development Director role will be critical to Circana UK’s success over the next 5 years. A key strategic objective is to be the #1 provider, by share, of market measurement solutions into the FMCG industry. This will mean winning new, marquee names among the top Food, Drink, Health, Beauty & Household manufacturers to add to the long-term relationships with Circana.

Location: Surrey, England, United Kingdom; Leatherhead, Staines-Upon-Thames, Reading, and other UK locations.
Responsibilities
- Develop a depth and breadth of engagement across 5-10 major, strategic manufacturer pursuits for the UK business.
- Create awareness of Circana’s unique capability by demonstrating how the combination of our Data, Technology and Expertise can drive top/bottom line success.
- Drive the internal creation, ongoing management, and external execution of the Circana Win Strategy tailored to manufacturer pursuits.
- Lead and coordinate the Circana Win Team of experts across Operations, Technology Solutions, Analytics, Insights and Exec functions.
- Build a pipeline of short-term incremental revenue opportunities by connecting Circana data, Media & Analytic solutions with key customer priorities.
- Represent Circana at high-profile industry events.
Main role responsibilities
- Client Leadership: Engage across the client’s organisation to add value by bringing Circana expertise and thought leadership, working with Circana senior leadership to drive Top-to-Top relationships.
- Establish a clear value proposition for each client that articulates the benefits of a Circana partnership and demonstrates the relevant solution portfolio in briefs and RFPs.

- Circana strategy: Articulate the company’s strategies and vision with key stakeholders.
- Bringing outside in: Apply best practice examples from the industry to help clients learn.
- Thought leadership: Design and deliver a regular thought leadership program across the client base.
Relationship Expertise
- Collaboration & connectedness: Work with a broad network within Circana to deliver strong proposals for prospective clients.
- Values: Demonstrate Circana values and drive high performance through innovative thinking and growth focus.
Commercial Governance
- Deal Management: Drive and manage a long-term win strategy with cross-functional teams and independent commercial proposals.
- Grow Circana revenue: Own delivery of the commercial revenue plan across defined clients, with account and go-to-market planning.
- Financial Administration: Manage finance processes for revenue recognition and cash flow.
- Opportunity identification: Provide internal recommendations on growth opportunities to inform the innovation pipeline.
Skills and Experience Required
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Senior Sales role.
- Strong strategic and consultative business skills with ability to sell high-value solutions to the C-suite.
- Understanding of the UK FMCG industry and challenges faced by manufacturers.
- Strong influencing abilities with a hunter mindset; excellent presentation skills and executive presence.
- Strong financial acumen and proficiency in Excel.
- Ability to translate complex, technical concepts into simple propositions for diverse contacts.
- Ability to develop and execute effective negotiation strategies with client decision-makers.
