Business Development Executive – Premium Wood Products (UK)


Mackinnon Bruce, on behalf of a valued client, is delighted to present an excellent opportunity for a proactive and motivated Business Development Executive to join a global leader in premium engineered wood products, supporting growth across the residential and commercial sectors.


This position is responsible for identifying and qualifying new business opportunities, nurturing existing relationships, and contributing to sustained year-on-year growth across the Northwest market. Working closely with a Business Development Manager, this role is an ideal opportunity for someone looking to make a tangible impact in a design-led, customer-focused business.


Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, research, and qualify prospective business opportunities within the market
  • Build and manage a sustainable pipeline of prospects and re-engage dormant accounts
  • Collaborate with the Business Development Manager to deliver incremental growth
  • Conduct outbound calls, emails, and social media outreach to generate new leads
  • Act as a consultant, focusing on solutions and relationship-building rather than transactional selling
  • Arrange CPDs and lunch & learn sessions to educate customers on product ranges
  • Maintain accurate CRM records, reports, and schedules
  • Provide insights and feedback to improve lead generation and qualification processes


Candidate Profile

  • Proven experience in business development, lead generation, or account management
  • Excellent communication skills – verbal and written – with the ability to build rapport
  • Confident telephone manner and strong research/analytical skills
  • Organised, results-oriented, and resilient, with a focus on delivering measurable impact
  • Experience with CRM systems and lead management tools preferred
  • Proactive, collaborative, and driven by continuous improvement
