Internal secondment opportunity

An exciting secondment opportunity has arisen within the haematology service for a motivated and enthusiastic nurse to join our team as a CNS.

The role provides a valuable opportunity to develop specialist skills in the care of patients with haematological conditions, while working as part of an experienced and supportive MDT.

The role includes:

·Providing specialist support and advice to patients and families.

·Coordinating care across inpatient, outpatient and DCU settings.

·Running/supporting nurse led clinics and patient education.

We are looking for:

·A registered nurse with significant post registration experience

·Excellent communication and organisational skills

·An interest in developing within haematological and specialist nursing practice.

·Ability to work autonomously and prioritise effectively

·Commitment to ongoing professional development and improving patient experience.

Main duties of the job

As a CNS in haematology, you will play a key role in supporting patients throughout their journey, from diagnosis to treatment and beyond. You will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team providing expert clinical advice, psychological support and care coordination. You will act as key worker and point of contact for haematology patients and families.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Assess patients holistically, plan implement and evaluate evidence based care. Provide specialist advice to patients families and carers and the wider multidisciplinary team. Assess patients information needs and provide relevant information to meet those needs at defined points in the patient pathway.

Provide specialist support and guidance to other staff within wards and departments and wider MDT. Act as a key worker for designated patients as appropriate across areas of the pathway. Influence and develop protocols and clinical guidelines
