Where will you be working?
At M Group Water w e help our clients safeguard the water supply, improve environmental performance and manage demand for future generations. We enhance and extend asset life, ensuring compliance with water quality and environmental standards.  We’re problem solvers with over 140 years of combined experience in engineering and infrastructure.
This role will join   BGEN - one of the UK's largest multidisciplinary design and build contractors with over 100 years of industry experience. We support clients in the w ater, p ower & e nergy, p harmaceutical, n uclear and f ood and b everage industries to deliver next generation, value-added engineering solutions.
Working closely with the Business Commercial Director, this is a key leadership role within the BGEN team—one that plays a vital part in shaping the commercial success of our growing Controlled Environments SBU. As Commercial Director, you’ll be the trusted voice of commercial integrity, helping ensure we meet our margin targets, manage risks wisely, and keep cash flow healthy.
You’ll collaborate with our business leaders and contract teams to uncover smart ways to reduce costs and boost revenue. From preparing insightful financial and commercial reports to engaging with client representatives and supporting tender assessments, your work will make a meaningful impact across the business.
What will you   be doing?
In this dynamic role, you'll help drive commercial success by ensuring healthy margins, timely cash collection, and smart cost-saving opportunities.
You’ll collaborate closely with directors, operational leads, and client teams, building strong relationships and offering trusted guidance.
From budgeting and forecasting to reviewing contracts and supporting tenders, your insight will shape key decisions.
You'll champion best practices, support margin and WIP improvement plans, and help resolve disputes with care.
With a focus on compliance, efficiency, and team development, you’ll lead with integrity—mentoring commercial staff and helping the business grow stronger, smarter, and more resilient every step of the way.
What you’ll bring:
Degree in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management (or equivalent)
RICS Chartered (or equivalent), with NEC accreditation
Strong background in construction and commercial management
Skilled in cost value reconciliations and target cost analysis
Confident in contract negotiation and sub-contract administration
Experience with building projects, especially in pharma or industrial sectors
Excellent communicator and team player
Detail-oriented, with integrity and a collaborative mindset
Builds trusted client relationships with ease
