HWF is partnering with a fast-growing, private equity–backed organisation to appoint a Commercial Finance Director into a pivotal role within a large-scale but lean finance function.

Reporting directly to the CFO, this is a hands-on Commercial FD role for someone who is equally comfortable operating at board level and rolling up their sleeves in the detail. You’ll play a critical role in driving performance, supporting growth initiatives and strengthening commercial decision-making across the business.

The Role

As Commercial Finance Director, you will:

• Act as the number one commercial partner to the CFO and wider executive team
\n\t
• Lead all commercial finance, FP&A and performance analysis across the group
\n\t
• Own budgeting, forecasting, scenario planning and long-range modelling in a PE environment
\n\t
• Provide detailed, data-driven insight on profitability, pricing, margins and ROI
\n\t
• Support M&A activity, integration and value-creation initiatives
\n\t
• Work closely with operational leaders to drive accountability and performance
\n\t
• Operate in a hands-on capacity, getting into the numbers, models and underlying detail where required
\n\t
• Help shape scalable finance processes and reporting suitable for a growing, acquisitive business

About You

\n\t
• Proven experience as a Commercial FD / Senior Commercial Finance Leader within a PE-backed or high-growth business
\n\t
• Comfortable working in a lean finance team with limited layers and high personal accountability
\n\t
• Strong technical and analytical capability with a hands-on approach to modelling, forecasting and analysis
\n\t
• Confident partnering and challenging senior stakeholders and investors
\n\t
• Experience supporting growth, transformation, or transaction activity
\n\t
• ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified
\n
