Director Biostatistics (Global statistical lead) – Remote - UK

We\'re partnered with a global, innovation-driven biopharmaceutical company in search of a Director Biostatistics to drive strategic leadership in statistical science across the full drug development lifecycle, from early clinical research through to regulatory submission and post-marketing evidence generation. The environment is highly collaborative and cross-functional, involving coordination across clinical development, medical affairs, real-world evidence (RWE), biomarkers, and safety functions.

Responsibilities

• Lead global statistical strategy across Oncology and Immuno-Oncology programs (early and late phase), providing strategic input into clinical development plans, regulatory submissions, and cross-functional decision-making.
• Act as the key statistical representative in a highly collaborative environment, coordinating activities across Biomarkers, Medical Affairs, Market Access, Publications, Programming, and Data Management, and engaging with regulatory agencies as needed.
• Shape and support the team’s success as a senior individual contributor by mentoring study-level statisticians, while maintaining a hands-on focus without line management responsibilities.

Qualifications

• PhD (or MSc with equivalent experience) in Biostatistics or Statistics.
• Experience with complex oncology designs (e.g., basket/umbrella trials, tumour-agnostic strategies), adaptive designs, and indirect comparisons.
• Familiarity with Bayesian methods, external controls, and AI/ML applications in clinical development.
