Overview
The Director, Business Development in Aviation Training Solutions (SaaS) is responsible for driving significant growth and expanding the market presence of our SaaS training solutions into the Aviation industry.
This role involves developing and executing innovative business development strategies that leverage regulatory expertise to secure new clients, increase SaaS market share in the AVSEC industry, forge strategic partnerships with government officials, and stay ahead of competitors in a rapidly evolving marketplace.
A key focus is to ensure our screener AVSEC SaaS products deliver high performance while meeting aviation security regulations, providing customers with compliant training and assessment solutions.
The role requires extensive experience in screener training and assessment, industry regulation knowledge, and a proven record of scaling SaaS solutions in competitive markets.
Responsibilities
Business Development & Growth:
Develop and implement growth-focused strategies to expand SaaS revenue and market share.Build a sales pipeline that enters new markets and geographies.Identify and secure new business opportunities for rapid expansion.Launch initiatives to upsell and cross-sell SaaS solutions.Achieve monthly and quarterly revenue targets.Lead weekly SaaS program meetings to ensure deliverables.Enhance customer acquisition and retention through targeted initiatives.Sales & Tender Management:
Oversee the SaaS sales cycle from lead generation to deal closure.Negotiate high-value deals and close complex sales.Deliver KPIs such as lead conversion and market penetration.Manage bids and tenders for government contracts, ensuring regulatory compliance.Develop proposals with stakeholders to secure public sector contracts.Secure relevant government grants and funding opportunities.Regulatory & Industry Expertise:
Maintain understanding of AVSEC training standards and how SaaS products support compliance.Build relationships with regulatory bodies and partners.Translate regulatory mandates into actionable sales strategies.Analytics & Data:
Develop industry performance reports and analytics frameworks.Use data insights to inform product and sales strategies.Report performance metrics to the executive team with recommendations.Marketing & Communications:
Collaborate on marketing strategies supporting business growth.Create marketing content highlighting compliance and industry expertise.Drive brand awareness and lead generation.Use analytics to optimize campaigns and customer engagement.Represent the company at industry events.
Qualifications
Certifications in sales, business development, or AVSEC compliance are advantageous.Experience:
At least 10 years in SaaS sales or business development.At least 5 years in aviation security training with industry regulation knowledge.Proven revenue growth and market expansion experience.Deep understanding of screener training and assessment.Experience in proposal development and public sector compliance.Data analytics proficiency for strategic decision-making.Additional:
The role holder must:
Obtain Background Check (CRC) and Counter Terrorism Check (CTC).Verify identity and legal right to work in the UK.Obtain UK SC security clearance, including a 5-year background check.
