Overview

Robert Walters is exclusively retained by a Swiss-headquartered fintech to appoint a Director, Consulting. The firm's API-first, cloud platform powers digital wealth, credit and insurance propositions for banks, wealth managers, insurers and consumer brands across EMEA and APAC.

Responsibilities

You'll lead late-stage client engagements, shaping end-to-end solutions, setting clear scope, and steering programmes from solution design through delivery. You will mentor a small bench of consultants/analysts and act as the senior bridge between business owners and technical teams. This is a consultative pre-sales and delivery ownership role, not a pure sales position.

• Own solutioning with senior client stakeholders (including Product Owners), translating business goals into target journeys, data flows, integration patterns and delivery plans.
• Lead workshops that articulate platform capabilities and limitations, aligning scope, risks, assumptions and success metrics.
• Guide implementations from high-level design to cutover principles; partner with product, architecture and delivery leads.
• Coach and supervise consultants/analysts; improve discovery notes, BRDs/EPICs, acceptance criteria and playback materials.
• Contribute to growth by shaping proposals/RFP responses, regional propositions and reusable accelerators; support market development across multiple geographies.
• Read the room by adapting communication for HR, COO, CIO, PO or RM audiences; build consensus and maintain momentum.

What you'll bring

• Senior consulting/solution leadership in digital wealth, platforms, or embedded finance (e.g., adviser & investor journeys, wrappers like ISA/SIPP/GIA, custody/TA touchpoints, CRM/KYC, payments, pricing/fees).
• Strong grasp of integrations beyond the core (APIs, events, reference/data domains) and ability to stitch front-to-back without replacing cores.
• Track record leading late-stage workshops and closing scope; able to state trade-offs and no-go decisions credibly.
• Delivery ownership: moving from concept to go-live, not just advisory.
• Team leadership and coaching; excellent written materials and playback quality.
• Fluency in English; additional European language(s) a plus. Willingness to travel across EMEA as needed.
