The Role
As a Director, this role provides strategic leadership to the team, working closely with other Directors and Partners to lead and develop our go to market strategy while being accountable for the high quality delivery to our clients. It is a highly accountable leadership role that requires you to wear many hats, but you’ll be well supported by the rest of us.

Leading the development of our growth strategy and developing high impact propositions to take to marketBuilding enduring sector relationships and becoming the go to person for our clients on relevant market opportunitiesCollaborating closely with other KPMG capability and sector leads to build consensus on priority targets and activities Senior leadership of complex client engagements, including the ability to operate effectively at Board level, providing robust insight to client problemsOverseeing the delivery of client deliverables, including having accountability for quality assurance and risk managementBeing an inspirational leader; managing, coaching, mentoring and motivating your colleaguesProviding training, guidance and leadership to the junior team membersHaving senior input into team headcount and recruitment decisionsFostering an inclusive, diverse and flexible environment where everyone can thrive

The Person

For this opportunity, we’re looking for someone with significant leadership experience in Project, Programme and Portfolio (P3M), delivering complex transformation in challenging environments. Ideally you will have transitioned from a delivery, controls or functional PM role into consulting, providing strategic advice at C-Suite level.

Capital Investment planning and portfolio managementDigital, data and AI transformation and implementationCapital delivery transformationsBusiness process improvement(s) Major programmes / projects setup and operationTarget operating model (TOM) design and implementationDesigning and enhancing Project, Programme or Portfolio controlsDesigning, establishing and leading transformation management offices (TMO) or project management offices (PMO)Leading major programme/ project maturity assessment and assuranceTroubled Project/Programme reviews and implementing recovery plansA proven history of operating as an effective leader in a complex P3M organisation and/or consulting firm with, primarily built around the leadership of major complex Projects/Programmes and transformational changeProven experience of management and leadership of multi-disciplinary consulting teams of between 5-20 consultantsBroad capability and experience across business development, delivery and line management Specialist Project, Programme and/or Portfolio management expertise, with proven delivery and a passion for the future of the profession Ideally one or more sector experience in Infrastructure, Transport, Aerospace, Defence, Industrial, Financial Services, Utilities or Manufacturing preferredDemonstrable experience of managing and influencing senior-level stakeholders, having built and sustained key relationshipsExcellent commercial awareness with strong experience of owning and managing client accounts – alongside ownership and management of significant bids and proposals Management and leadership of multi-disciplinary teams Passion, resilience, adaptability and energy to make a difference, both internally and externallyA foundation of excellent academics and/or demonstrable career progression to date Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Relevant professional certification – e.g. APM ChPP/PPQ; MoP; MSP; PRINCE2
