- Co-develop and operationalise GUS's AI and automation strategy with a strong focus on pedagogical innovation
- Translate research on learning science, personalisation, and adaptive systems into a commercial and scalable product vision
- Collaborate with academic leaders, instructional designers, and faculty to ensure product alignment with educational best practice
- Regularly report progress and insights to the Chief AI Officer and executive team
- Lead the design and deployment of AI-powered learning products (e.g. adaptive learning platforms, automated assessment, intelligent tutoring systems)
- Champion learning effectiveness and evidence-based pedagogy in all AI-driven initiatives
- Build intelligent content pipelines, embedding GenAI tools into curriculum creation, feedback loops, and student support
- Explore emerging tools (e.g. learning analytics, recommendation engines, agent-based simulations) to drive deeper engagement and outcomes
- Drive experimentation through MVPs, pilots, and learner testing cycles
- Partner with operations, admissions, finance, and HR teams to identify high-value automation opportunities
- Support deployment of intelligent automation tools that improve learner and staff experiences (e.g. AI chatbots, RPA, smart workflows)
- Collaborate with senior colleagues on systems integration and scalable architecture
- Help build and lead a cross-functional team of learning engineers, product managers, AI/ML researchers, and instructional designers
- Promote a culture of experimentation, ethical AI practice, and learner-first thinking
- Engage with global AI/EdTech partners, open-source communities, and academic institutions to stay at the cutting edge of the field
- It is essential that you are an experienced AI expert in EdTech, learning design, product development, or AI-enhanced education delivery
- A strong track record of building and scaling learner-centric digital products or platforms
- Deep understanding of instructional design, curriculum architecture, and/or learning science
- Experience working with AI/ML systems - especially GenAI, LLMs, automation, and learning analytics
- Strong product leadership and agile delivery skills - from research to roadmap to release
- Familiarity with educational data standards, adaptive learning technologies, and privacy considerations
- Experience collaborating with academic stakeholders, educators, and students to co-design solutions
- Passion for educational equity, innovation, and lifelong learning
- Degree in Education, Learning Technologies, Computer Science, or a related field preferred but not essential
