Overview

You’re an established statistician or equivalent with operational experience who has a working knowledge of evidence generation and synthesis for real world evidence and health economics and market access solutions. Your background is in clinical, healthcare, health services, or pharmaceutical research, and you’ll know what is meant by the intricacies of statistical analysis plans and regulatory requirements for evidence generation. You want this role because you understand evidence generation requirements in a pharmaceutical setting and because of your operational expertise in cross-coordinating teams to deliver data that is fit for purpose.

You have experience managing health research datasets, ideally complex ones, giving you knowledge about standardization, data manipulation and statistical analyses, data quality and compliance. You’ve led and mentored people, managed stakeholders, and provided robust methods for optimal evidence generation with the ability to communicate results to multiple audiences. You’re interested in real-world studies and patient-focused research projects involving data from patients, carers and clinical data, and you enjoy exciting, diverse projects that involve innovative technology and creative thinking.

What you’ll do…

You’ll be involved in a range of activities, including:

  • Operational control of the analytics team (five members), under the direct supervision of the CEO and line management of team members
  • Ensure timely and rigorous analysis of data from our real-world studies (10-15 studies at one time), coordinating with other data analysts to address critical research questions by developing, refining, and scaling data management and analytic procedures
  • Data pipeline management oversight for outcome research projects, including data warehouse systems, dashboarding systems or data collection platforms, or other functions through to data management, transformation, transfer and analysis processing and reporting
  • Lead methodology and rigorous evidence synthesis capture, planning, reporting, and insights for internal and external stakeholders relating to the analysis of outcome research data
  • Direct responsibility for the development and maintenance of protocols and process documentation for the activities of the analytics team, including shared processes with other teams in terms of compliance and the fulfillment of regulatory requirements for outcomes research data
  • Reporting responsibility at senior management meetings and company meetings and to relevant external stakeholders
  • Developing strategic priorities for the team and, by extension, in-house data capture platforms or outsourced functions and the company alongside the CEO for outcomes research studies to support clients research needs and improve platform and service performance and efficiency
  • Support and influence growth and innovation of the company and its products while maintaining a resilient and proactive attitude to dynamic technology
  • Supporting, where required, business development activities

Essential skills and experience…

  • MSc or PhD in Statistics, Biostatistics, Data Science, or equivalent or another demonstrably relevant field
  • Experience in statistical analysis software
  • Demonstrated high degree of technical competence and effective communication skills, both oral and written
  • Demonstrated high degrees of operational competence and business development activities as well as stakeholder management
  • Experience-based knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry or regulatory setting, directly or through academic roles, or roles with developers, manufacturers, or in consulting, and related evidence development
  • Knowledge of experimental and real-world evidence study design, descriptive statistics, inferential statistics, statistical modeling, and statistical programming and evidence synthesis
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills, showing an ability to find and employ effective, creative solutions and adjust course
  • Excellent time and project management skills, including setting of project goals, timelines, and budgeted hours for multiple projects at any one time

Desirable skills and experience…

  • Experience operating at an assistant director level or equivalent
  • Good knowledge of any of the following: Python, Stata, SAS, R

100%; flexible hours (37.5 hours worked Monday to Friday). Part time may be considered.
