Direct message the job poster from Keltbray Head of Talent Acquisition at Keltbray Group Business Development Director Keltbray Group are seeking an experienced business development professional with strong relationships with UK and Ireland Tier 1 contractors, Clients with a particular focus on outside London to support Keltbrays ongoing expansion into national infrastructure markets. The ideal candidate should have the following attributes with a proven track record of success; Experienced managing a team focused on all elements of the business development, tendering and winning of work process. Also with a track record of the evaluation of market sectors, selection of opportunities and teaming both within the UK and mainland Europe. Providing strategic direction to the team and reviewing PQQ and tenders to achieve optimal scoring and to encourage the development of the team. Research to support the implementation of the business plan, including periodic reviews and updates as required Support the development of the current market sectors and identify new sectors ensuring a resilient and diverse pipeline Identify opportunities which support revenue and margin targets including any growth aspirations, balanced of risk and reward, opportunity to differentiate from competition Monitor market trends to identify any risks to the business including mitigation measures Accountability for tendering budget, reporting, forecasting This is probably for the Pre-construction director. Client and market engagement Undertake and support colleagues with extensive engagement with clients (existing and new) to understand their future pipeline of opportunities Influence client procurement routes to ensure that it provides a balanced risk profile, incorporates key commercial principles etc aligned to company strategy when the project comes to market Promote the organisation to clients, partners with details of capability, capacity, differentiators Engage with wider industry bodies to promote brand, engagement with third parties as required Retain client relationship throughout the life span of the opportunity providing continuity and direct point of contact Opportunity Evaluation Develop Tender Pursuit Plan including competitor analysis. Lead the Bid / No Bid decision presentation with the Executive Investment Panel. Evaluating cost of tender investment vs likely return help Identify the right teaming strategy to drive success in new markets or with larger projects which require external involvement. Identification of any other industry recognised leading individuals who would have a positive impact in sectoral understanding and presence. Prequalification Accountability for production of PQQ including kick off meeting, regular reviews of compliance and qualitative responses Engage with wider functional departments in developing best practice responses for tenders Feed back on PQQ from client, capturing any lessons learned as required Strategic peer review of qualitative tender responses ensuring it meets original client objectives Qualitative input to tenders, peer reviews in accordance with agreed bid programme Support to the technical team to develop a clear, concise methodology which maximises the scoring Resources Management of direct resources including business development manager(s)/ director(s), covering geographical and sectoral focus Management of submissions including submissions managers, writers (internal and external), graphics Engage wider departmental functions to provide support as required Attend feedback meetings with the client, as appropriate Capturing best practice from live projects to use within tenders Processes and procedures Review and implementation of best practice across strategy, client engagement, PQQ and Tender to ensure we maximise successful outcomes Track win rates (PQQ targeting 1:1 success rate) and Tender (1:2.5 success rate)s an improvement from the current 1:3. Queries on Departmental responsibilities Marketing collateral to clients, partners, wider supply chain Innovation function given the importance within submissions Help identify and pursue any acquisition opportunities.
