Salary: £113,745
Overview
Following the retirement of the current Director, this is an opportunity to lead the Council’s Education & Inclusion Services. You will be responsible for a net revenue budget of circa £37 million, a three-year capital programme of £72 million, and 1,276 non-school staff. Your responsibilities cover the delivery of all aspects of Education & Inclusion Services, supporting 111 schools and 4,594 school-based staff, with school budgets of £212 million.

Responsibilities
- Lead the Council’s Education & Inclusion Services and implement the improvement strategy to connect and support communities, keeping people safe, healthy, and able to thrive.
- Provide strong executive leadership to the Senior Leadership Team and collaborate with elected Members and partners.
- Manage a detailed budget and capital programme as outlined above, and oversee 111 schools and 4,594 school-based staff.
- Deliver high-quality education and inclusion outcomes in line with statutory requirements and the Council’s priorities.
- Engage with partners across the Council to improve lives and opportunities for local communities.

- Receive strong political and professional support to carry out duties.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Experience at Director level or ready to take the next step in your career with a track record in education and inclusion services.
- Ability to work with colleagues across the Council and with partners to improve communities’ lives.
- Commitment to safeguarding; role includes safeguarding responsibilities and enhanced DBS check.

- Protecting children and vulnerable adults is a core responsibility of all staff appointed to the Council.
- Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check will apply to the successful applicant.
