Walker Cole International is searching for a Director of Scientific Affairs and Portfolio Management to join a leading healthcare organisation based near London, England. This senior leadership position will oversee Regulatory Affairs, Medical Affairs, Clinical Affairs, Portfolio Strategy, and Business Development across a broad portfolio of products. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in driving scientific and commercial excellence — ensuring compliance, enabling innovation, and shaping portfolio growth across the organisation. This position offers significant influence within the UK leadership team and represents a key pillar in the company’s long-term strategy.
Key Responsibilities
Provide strategic leadership across Regulatory, Medical, and Clinical Affairs, ensuring full compliance with UK and international standards. Define and deliver portfolio strategy and business development plans, including new product launches, lifecycle management, and opportunity assessment. Lead and mentor a multi-disciplinary team spanning regulatory, medical, pharmacovigilance, and business development functions, fostering collaboration and high performance. Identify and evaluate new market opportunities, licensing partnerships, and category expansion initiatives. Partner with senior leadership to achieve strategic and financial objectives while strengthening the organisation’s scientific and commercial capabilities.
Candidate Profile
15+ years of experience in pharmaceuticals with a strong background in scientific, regulatory, or medical leadership. Proven expertise in portfolio management and business development, including strategic evaluation of new opportunities. Demonstrated success in leading complex, multi-functional teams within matrix organisations. Degree in a life science or pharmacy discipline; advanced qualifications in business, regulatory, or scientific management are advantageous.
