Overview
We are looking to recruit a Director of Software Engineering Operations for a leading software company. You will take a pivotal role in scaling a fast-growing SaaS business. Acting as the operational glue between Product, Engineering, and the wider business, you'll ensure that technical execution delivers against strategic objectives while keeping customers at the heart of everything you do. This is a senior leadership position reporting into the Group CTO and requires a strong software engineering background with leadership experience in a growing software company. This is a remote role with initial on-site engagement in Kosovo for 3–6 months to build relationships, understand operations, and embed processes. Travel requirements will reduce after processes are established.

The Role
- Provide operational leadership for software engineering teams, ensuring delivery velocity, platform resilience, and customer satisfaction.
- Act as the key counterpart to the Head of Product, aligning engineering execution with product roadmaps.
- Lead and mentor a small engineering team, embedding a culture of accountability, excellence, and customer focus.
- Oversee system architecture and platform operations, ensuring scalability, security, and performance.
- Act as a trusted technical point of contact for sales, account management, and customer escalations.
- Drive process improvement across engineering, with focus on documentation, metrics, and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with Information Security and Infrastructure leaders to ensure cohesive and secure operations.
- Manage budgets and optimise engineering and DevOps activity to improve cost efficiency.
About You
- Strong technical foundation with a software engineering background, ideally from a SaaS or software product company.
- Proven leadership experience bridging technical delivery and operations in a software business.
- Track record of scaling teams and processes in a growth environment.
- Experience managing teams of 5–20 across geographically dispersed locations.
- Comfortable engaging directly with customers, supporting RFP/RFI responses, and handling escalations.
- Familiar with ITIL Service Management, ISO 9001, ISO 27001.
- Excellent communicator, able to translate technical complexity for non-technical stakeholders.
