Pembridge Hall girls are nurtured, challenged and empowered to succeed.Role SummaryThe Director of Sport is a member of the Senior Management Team (SMT) and is responsible for ensuring that a high challenge, and well‑balanced, Physical Education curriculum is taught effectively and consistently throughout the school (including Reception, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2), leading to the highest standards of learning and achievement for all pupils. They will provide leadership in the organisation and management of the Sports Department, including pupils, staff, premises, clubs and sporting fixtures (both internally and with other schools). Additionally, they are expected to promote and support the ethos, aims and vision of the school and maintain its philosophy of education. The Director of Sport is responsible for maintaining and developing a strategic vision for the Sports Department at Pembridge Hall. They are responsible to the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and ultimately the Head.Key ResponsibilitiesManage, lead and develop all aspects of Sport within the schoolWork with other staff to continue the development of the PE curriculum throughout the SchoolReview and update subject‑related policies and contribute to the School Development Plan on a regular basisLine‑management of PE Teachers, Sports Assistants, Coaches and Club Leaders, including recruitment of new staff and organising timetablesEnsure all staff in the Sport Department develop their teaching in an open, supportive and professional environmentEnsure proper resourcing of the Sports Department, including appropriate sports and other materialsLead and participate in Sports events, both in and out of school, including Sports Day, Inter‑House fixture, Inter‑School fixtures, competitions, events and International Trips—understanding that many fixtures may take place outside of school hours or occasionally on SaturdaysManage and run the school's Extra‑Curricular Club provision for Sport, including internal and external Club LeadersActively promote Sports opportunities across the schoolIdentify talented pupils for Sport Awards and ScholarshipsManage the budget for the Sport DepartmentIdeal CandidateTeaching qualification together with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)Experience of leading and teaching Physical Education across the primary age rangeAbility to work in a way that promotes the safety and well‑being of childrenEffective use of strategies to motivate and engage students as effective learners and to promote good student relationshipsExperience of Netball coaching and umpiringExperience of organising fixtures and eventsStrong organisational and management skillsKnowledge of National Curriculum EYFS, Key Stages 1 and 2 is desirableSafeguarding StatementInspired Education Group is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff, volunteers and other third parties to share this commitment.
