The role has primary responsibility for liquidity management, cash forecasting, regulatory compliance with liquidity and funding ratios, ownership of the Bank’s ILAAP, market risk management (interest rate and FX), preparation of ALCo reporting, and treasury input into product initiatives.

  • Counterparties: Manage relationships with funding counterparties and deposit-raising channels.
  • Forecasting & Planning: Lead cash flow forecasting and stress testing processes with robust methodologies and clear communication of results; provide forward-looking analysis to support balance sheet strategy.
  • ILAAP ownership: Lead and own the Bank’s Internal Liquidity Adequacy Assessment Process (ILAAP); develop and maintain framework, methodologies and documentation; coordinate with Finance, Risk and business units; present findings to ALCo and the Board; ensure outcomes are integrated into strategic planning and risk appetite settings.
  • Interest rate risk management: Lead the Bank’s interest rate risk management strategy within risk appetite and regulatory limits; design and execute hedges (e.g. interest rate swaps) and monitor hedge effectiveness with Finance and Risk.
  • FX risk management: Monitor currency and FX exposures, implement hedging and position management to minimise FX risk, and provide treasury input into products with FX implications.
  • Product & Business Support: Partner with product, payments and lending teams to provide treasury input on new initiatives, assessing liquidity and funding implications; support structuring of new products for funding and liquidity efficiency.
  • Risk, Compliance & Governance: Act as first line of defence for treasury risks; ensure compliance with PRA liquidity and funding reporting; implement controls and governance to ensure MI and data integrity; participate in ALCo and present treasury matters clearly to the committee.
  • Group Treasury relationship: Maintain a strong relationship with the Group Treasury team.
  • Leadership: Provide clear updates on liquidity, funding, and regulatory compliance to the CFO, ALCo, and the Board; mentor and develop junior colleagues.
