The team youll work with:
The Warehouse Finance team sits at the heart of HSBC Innovation Bankings Structured Finance platform, providing tailored debt facilities to high growth fintech and non-bank lenders across the UK and Europe. Were looking for a commercially astute and technically strong Director to join our team, with a focus on leading the structuring, execution and portfolio management of complex warehouse facilities for our existing clients.

This is a leadership role suited to someone who can bring deep technical expertise, sound judgement, and a collaborative approach to developing and proactively monitoring bespoke funding solutions for innovative, fast-paced clients. Youll be part of high-performing, entrepreneurial team that values initiative, precision, and collaboration and can make a real impact on how we grow and evolve the Warehouse Finance business for the future .
What you can expect to be doing:
Strategic Leadership and Execution
Own the structuring, underwriting and negotiation of warehouse transactions for our existing client base.
Design and lead bespoke debt structures that meet client needs, collaborating closely with Relationship Directors, Credit Solutions, Legal and Product teams.
Provide strategic insight into evolving market dynamics and portfolio performance, contributing to origination discussions and thought leadership within the Warehouse Finance team.
Take primary responsibility for the management of a complex portfolio of warehouse clients, including risk assessment, performance monitoring and covenant compliance.
Lead regular portfolio reviews with 2LOD and the broader Fintech team to provide strong assurance on risk management and early identification of underperformance in the portfolio.
Provide senior input on credit strategy and lending frameworks, policy developments and sectoral risk appetite.
Build trusted partnerships with Fintechs, alternative lenders and institutional sponsors across the UK and Europe.
Act as a senior face of HSBC Innovation Banking in the structure finance and Fintech ecosystem, representing the bank at select industry events and client pitches.
Input into internal and external content (e.g. marketing collateral and industry commentary) to raise the profile of our Warehouse Finance offering.
Coach and mention Associates and VPs, supporting their development in areas such as credit structuring, modelling and client management.
Play an active role in the leadership of the team, including recruitment, process improvement and knowledge sharing.
Support the Head of Warehouse Finance in driving team culture, cross-functional collaboration and delivery of growth ambitions.
Requirements:
Technical Expertise
Deep knowledge of Warehouse or Securitisation financing, including collateral analysis, cashflow modelling and risk structuring.
Strong track record in leading complex transactions across various collateral types (e.g. consumer loans, credit cards, invoice finance, real estate).
Commercial Judgement & Leadership
Ability to think strategically and translate market trends into client solutions or early warning identification in the portfolio.
Adept at balancing commercial drivers with sound credit judgement and internal policy.
Collaboration and Execution
Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional deal teams and manage multiple workstreams effectively.
Skilled in communicating complex ideas with clarity and confidence, both in written materials and client discussions.
Strong mentoring instincts and a desire to build a strong team culture and develop junior talent.
Qualifications & Experience
Structured finance experience from investment or commercial banks, specialised lenders, asset managers or rating agencies.
