Director, Rewards (Europe) – Sofina Foods Europe.
This role reports to the Chief People Officer and partners with the executive leadership to align reward strategies with growth ambitions, culture, and regulatory compliance. It involves designing compensation structures, pay programmes, annual merit and pay award cycles, and recognition schemes that drive engagement and performance. The role is in-office with a main base in North Yorkshire.
The Role
Sofina Foods is seeking a strategic and hands-on Director, Rewards to help shape and deliver our total reward philosophy. You’ll partner with the executive leadership across the business to align reward strategies with growth objectives and cultural priorities, including data and market insight to inform decisions at the highest level.
This role goes beyond pay and benefits; you’ll be a trusted advisor, ensuring Sofina remains competitive, compliant, and future-focused.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Design and deliver a competitive total reward philosophy in partnership with the Canadian business, aligned with objectives, culture, and market best practice.
- Lead Compensation & Benefits — manage salary structures, bonus plans, long-term incentives, and benefits, ensuring competitiveness and compliance.
- Lead the annual merit and incentive process — partner with the CPO to design and execute the cycle, advising the CEO and Founder, and ensuring flawless delivery across 24 sites.
- Manage Executive Compensation in collaboration with the CPO and leadership team.
- Develop performance and recognition frameworks to drive a culture of appreciation and results.
- Build credibility with leaders across the business by providing insight and guidance on reward-related matters.
- Contribute to the design and deployment of new HR systems, embedding reward processes into future technology platforms.
- Coach and support HR Business Partners, acting as a trusted advisor and providing tools, training, and guidance on reward topics.
- Utilize data, benchmarking, and market analysis to continuously improve reward offerings.
The Ideal Candidate
This role is for someone ready to establish and lead reward strategy in a fast-paced, multi-site environment:
- Proven track record in Reward or Compensation & Benefits roles
- Expertise in designing and implementing reward strategies
- Strong knowledge of compensation principles, job evaluation, and incentive design
- Experience managing diverse employee benefits programmes
- Exceptional analytical skills using data and insights to inform strategy
- Skilled communicator and influencer with credibility
- Strategic mindset with operational focus, balancing innovation with compliance
