  • The Director, Talent Acquisition – Europe will lead and inspire a high-performing team of recruiters across the region, driving innovative strategies to attract and hire exceptional talent that fuels Ryan’s continued growth.

    This role will play a pivotal part in shaping the future of our recruiting function in Europe — from developing and mentoring a talented team, to building strong partnerships with business leaders, to executing creative sourcing and engagement strategies.

    The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in leading recruitment across multiple markets, with a focus on experienced tax professionals, early-career and graduate hiring, and corporate and operational talent. You’ll combine strategic vision with hands-on leadership to elevate our talent acquisition capability and deliver a best-in-class candidate and hiring manager experience.

    Duties and responsibilities, as they align to Ryan’s Key Results

    People:

  • Leads, mentors, and develops the European Talent Acquisition team, setting clear goals and fostering a high-performance culture.

  • Oversees training programs for recruiters, hiring managers, and interviewers to enhance recruiting capabilities and ensure an exceptional candidate experience.

  • Ensures all regional hiring practices are fully compliant with UK and EU employment laws and regulations.

  • Creates clear organizational objectives and invests in professional development for the TA team, enabling growth and succession within the function.

  • Client:

  • Designs and delivers innovative recruitment strategies tailored to European markets to attract experienced tax professionals, early-career talent, and operational and corporate professionals.

  • Builds a deep understanding of the competitive talent landscape across EMEA, proactively benchmarking against key competitors and market trends.

  • Partners closely with business leaders across Europe to understand their strategic hiring needs, advising on talent availability, market conditions, and workforce planning.

  • Oversees experienced-hire recruiting from industry and competitors, ensuring a strong talent pipeline across multiple European jurisdictions.

  • Directs university relations and early-career programs in partnership with top European universities and professional associations to strengthen Ryan’s talent brand and future pipeline.

  • Builds strategic relationships with professional networks, educational institutions, and recruitment partners throughout Europe to maintain a steady flow of qualified candidates.

  • Value:

  • Defines, tracks, and reports on key performance indicators (KPIs) for the European Talent Acquisition team, ensuring transparency and accountability in hiring outcomes.

  • Collaborates in the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) process by advising on workforce planning, talent market insights, and hiring metrics such as time to hire and time to fill.

  • Serves as a change agent within the HR and leadership community—continuously evaluating and improving recruitment practices for greater efficiency, inclusivity, and impact.

  • Oversees full-cycle recruiting operations to ensure timely, compliant, and effective candidate engagement across the region.

  • Manages the selection and engagement of recruitment vendors, agencies, and technology platforms to optimize performance and cost-effectiveness.

  • Oversees candidate experience from application through offer, ensuring consistent communication and high close rates at the offer stage.

  • Manages recruitment budgets and vendor contracts, ensuring optimal return on investment.

  • Maintains accurate reporting, data integrity, and compliance within the applicant tracking system (Workday preferred).

  • Supports additional projects and strategic initiatives as assigned to drive continuous improvement and alignment with global talent priorities.

  • Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) required with advanced graduate degree in Business, Human Resources, or related field preferred.

  • PHR, SPHR or other related certification preferred.

  • Minimum ten years related professional experience, which must include a meaningful leadership role in Human Resources involving daily interface with senior leadership, managing key initiatives, and performing (or responsible for the oversight) of talent acquisition activities.

  • Computer Skills:

    To perform this job successfully, an individual should have solid skills in Microsoft® Excel and Microsoft® Outlook, Microsoft® Word, and Internet navigation and research. Workday experience preferred.

    Supervisory Responsibilities:

    Directly supervises employees in Talent Acquisition team and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Firm’s policies and applicable laws.

    Work Environment:

  • Standard indoor working environment.

  • Occasional long periods of sitting while working at computer.

  • Occasional long periods of standing while attending college recruiting programs.

  • Position requires regular interaction with employees at all levels of the Firm and interface with external vendors, university staff and faculty, and candidates at all levels.
