The Director will play a pivotal role in leading and growing the Value & Risk Advisory business in Edinburgh and the surrounding region. This position requires a strong leader with a proven track record in valuation, business development, and client relationship management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Business Development:
    • Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand the team's client base and service offerings.
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key clients, including investors, developers, and corporate occupiers.
    • Prepare and present compelling proposals and presentations to prospective clients.
    • Network actively within the industry to build JLL's brand and reputation.
  • Valuation Expertise:
    • Provide expert valuation advice on a wide range of commercial properties, with a focus on offices.
    • Oversee the preparation of high-quality valuation reports that meet industry standards and client requirements.
    • Review and analyze market data to support valuation conclusions.
    • Stay abreast of current trends and developments in the property market.
  • Team Leadership:
    • Manage and mentor a team of valuers, providing guidance and support to ensure their professional development.
    • Delegate tasks effectively and monitor team performance.
    • Foster a collaborative and positive work environment.
    • Conduct performance reviews and provide feedback to team members.
  • Risk Management:
    • Identify and assess potential risks associated with property investments and developments.
    • Provide advice on risk mitigation strategies.
    • Ensure compliance with JLL's risk management policies and procedures.
  • Financial Management:
    • Manage the team's budget and resources effectively.
    • Monitor financial performance and identify opportunities to improve profitability.
    • Ensure accurate and timely billing of clients.

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Qualifications:
    • MRICS (Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) or equivalent qualification is essential.
    • Bachelor's degree in Real Estate, Finance, or a related field.
  • Experience:
    • Extensive experience in commercial property valuation, with a focus on offices.
    • Proven track record in business development and client relationship management.
    • Experience in leading and managing a team of professionals.
  • Skills:
    • Strong valuation skills and knowledge of valuation methodologies.
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and valuation software.
