Strategic & Commercial Leadership Lead strategic planning, capex appraisal, and scenario modelling to support commercial decision-making. Deliver divisional financial objectives aligned with MARCH strategic value creation plans. Provide proactive financial leadership to identify and execute opportunities for EBITDA growth, margin enhancement, and improved cash generation. Lead the implementation of IFS (ERP technology platform) into the Infrastructure Division ensuring that appropriate training, process and procedures are in place whilst protecting cash, and delivering high quality, timeous and accurate financial reporting during systems transitions.
Financial Planning & Forecasting Own the divisional budgeting and forecasting process, driving the use of key measures and accountability in relation to planned deliverables. Develop, set KPIs and measure whilst setting operational targets to hone focus towards strategic priorities. Adopt AI initiatives to streamline finance operations and use predictive analytics to anticipate risks and opportunities. Track, measure and report on gains made because of each initiative implemented.
Working Capital & Cash Management Lead working capital initiatives from Bid process to Order and Cash with a constant focus on improving cash conversion. Develop a culture of cash is king into divisional thinking through end-to-end process improvement and coaching. Develop robust cash flow forecasting and working capital frameworks. Challenge working capital consumption by project, ensuring project level working capital management and focus is consistent across the division. Drive initiatives to unlock trapped cash and enhance free cash flow performance.
Acquisition Integration & Value Creation Take ownership of financial integration for newly acquired businesses within the division, ensuring that the correct resource is in place with a full handover from the Integration team. Responsible for signing off and confirming that all 100Day plan items have been attended to before BAU operational handover. Align financial reporting, controls, and KPIs with group standards and divisional strategy. Partner with operational and functional leaders to embed acquired entities culturally and commercially. Track and report on synergy realisation, integration milestones, and post-deal performance.
Financial Reporting & Control Ensure timely, accurate, and insightful financial reporting for internal stakeholders and the board. Maintain strong financial governance, internal controls, and compliance with group policies and external regulations. Support audit readiness and financial due diligence for refinancing or exit scenarios. Performance Management Lead budgeting, reforecasting, and long-range planning processes with a focus on value drivers. Monitor divisional performance through KPIs, variance analysis, and operational metrics. Partner with operational leaders to drive margin improvement, cost efficiency, and strategic initiatives.
Team Leadership Build and lead a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of ownership, commercial thinking, and continuous improvement. Develop talent pipelines and succession plans to support divisional growth and scalability. Secondary tasks and duties Accountable for implementing the Tax Strategy in conjunction with the group Tax Compliance Manager ensuring divisional compliance demonstrable regarding Senior Accounting Officer (SAO) obligations. Identify commercial and financial risks and develop strategies to mitigate them. Work closely with the Internal Legal Counsel to assess and manage legal and regulatory risks across the organisation. Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, GDPR regulations, and industry standards Skills and Experience
Strong understanding of regulatory and Tax Compliance. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities. Sound judgment and decision-making abilities. High level of integrity and ethical conduct. Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with demonstrable experience of operating in a fast-paced environment. Strong track record in working capital management, forecasting, and post-acquisition integration. Proven success in a senior finance role within a private equity-backed or highly leveraged business.
