The Role
Our tax team is growing and we have a fantastic opportunity for a client facing Employment Tax Senior Manager or Director, to join us and contribute to the delivery of complex and high quality Employment Tax advice to clients and internal colleagues.
The role can be based from any of our offices including Leeds, Manchester, Glasgow, Carlisle and Newcastle.
Providing an advisory service across the entire spectrum of Employment Tax areas for our clients will be a key part of the role, including HMRC enquiries, employment status/IR35 advisory, National Minimum Wage, CIC etc, and projects with the wider Tax team such as due diligence support, CCO and SAO reviews.
Our Employment Tax Team services clients across a wide range of sectors, predominantly family or owner managed businesses up to £200m+ turnover.
The main elements of this role will include:
- Overseeing and managing a varied portfolio of clients
- Providing strategic support to the Employment Tax Partner in leading and developing the Employment Tax Team and service offerings
- Ensuring establishment of scope and budget for each piece of work is in place and ensuring adequate briefingto the teammembers is given
- Delivering high-quality Employment Tax technical advice to clients ranging from adhoc queries to larger advisory projects
- Growing the Employment Tax team through business development and building relations with key clients and sectors
- Developing relationships and working with external parties, e.g. HMRC, employment lawyers, industry bodies, etc

The Candidate
In order to fulfil the responsibilities of the position, we would like candidates to be / have:
- Strong Employment Tax technical experience
- Significant knowledge and experience of working in Practice in a Senior role
- Excellent communication skills with both colleagues and clients
- Commercially aware and able to solve problems
- Able to coach and mentor junior members of the team, providing leadership and development
