Engineering Director, API Integration Solutions, Fintech B2B, Consumer Facing | Up to £230,000, Hybrid, 3 Days

A leading global technology company is expanding its B2B platform that provides financial infrastructure to banks, fintechs, and large enterprises worldwide. The platform enables flexibility for business to provide financial services internationally and is well recognised in the market.

The Solutions Engineering function bridges product capabilities with partner needs, ensuring technical excellence, smooth integration, and long-term success. This team works closely with implementation, commercial, product, and engineering teams.

As the Engineering Director of this unit you will define and lead the strategy for this function, scale a distributed team, and oversee the delivery of high-impact technical solutions for enterprise partners. You will work directly with end clients and your team to design the ideal solution for each environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement the global roadmap for Solutions Engineering, aligning with the broader growth objectives of the B2B platform.
• Lead and mentor a team of Solutions Engineers across multiple regions. Foster collaboration, ownership, technical excellence, and continuous learning. Design and implement career progression frameworks and identify future leaders within the team.
• Ensure consistent delivery of complex integration projects across a wide range of partners and regions. Be prepared to dive into specific engagements to unblock issues or provide guidance as needed.
• Own post-sales technical relationships with high-value and complex enterprise partners. Guide them through the integration process and ensure they are equipped to use the platform’s capabilities to their full potential.
• Standardize global practices for onboarding, API implementation, and ongoing technical success. Develop metrics and KPIs to measure performance and drive improvements in solution delivery.
• Collaborate with product managers, sales teams, engineering leaders, and customer delivery units to ensure a cohesive experience for partners and a unified approach to technical engagement.
• Act as a technical voice of the customer, feeding insights back into product development. Translate partner requirements into technical feedback to shape the roadmap.

Requirements

• Strong engineering background, ideally in backend or platform engineering domains.
• Proven experience leading technical teams, preferably across multiple international locations.
• Experience in post-sales customer engagement, technical solution delivery, and stakeholder management.
• Track record designing and launching new services or building tailored solutions in complex environments (e.g., SaaS platforms, financial services).
• Ability to define technical strategy and lead cross-functional delivery initiatives across multiple squads or departments.
• Experience developing internal frameworks for talent growth, performance management, and team scaling.
