Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced and emotionally intelligent Finance Business Director to join their team on a 3-month contract. This role will provide crucial finance support, working closely with the Head of Finance, within the franchise team. The ideal candidate will be able to quickly integrate and manage key financial operations, work effectively with multiple stakeholders, and serve as a primary point of contact for our franchisees.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Operations Management: Take full ownership of the weekly reconciliation process, matching all Stripe and non-Stripe payments against franchisee sales and our bank accounts. This includes the accurate application of Management Service Fees (MSF) and any other applicable charges, followed by the coordination of payments to franchisees.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement improvements to current financial processes. This involves collaborating with our tech team to find and deploy automation solutions that enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Stakeholder and Franchisee Support: Act as the main day-to-day point of contact for franchisees for all financial inquiries. The role requires a high degree of emotional intelligence (EQ) to build and maintain strong working relationships with both internal stakeholders and external franchisees.
  • Ad-hoc Support: Provide support on an exception basis to franchisees with their basic finance function setup and cash flow forecasting.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Systems Proficiency: Must be able to use client systems immediately upon starting the role.
  • Financial Expertise: Proven experience in financial reconciliation, payment processing, and general financial management.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Exceptional emotional intelligence and communication skills, with the ability to manage relationships with a diverse group of stakeholders, including senior leadership, internal teams, and franchisees.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving process inefficiencies.
  • Contractor Mindset: The ability to hit the ground running, work autonomously, and deliver results within a short timeframe.
