Job Summary & Purpose

We’re seeking a Finance Director who’s not only a strategic leader but also deeply involved in day‑to‑day financial operations. In this role you will work closely with the Financial Controller while remaining hands‑on across budgeting, forecasting, procurement, and financial reporting. You will support sales, account management, transport, and refurbishment teams—supporting bids and tenders, identifying cost‑saving opportunities, and helping the business stay financially agile in a fast‑moving environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and actively contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning
• Develop and implement financial strategies that support growth and sustainability
• Oversee procurement and commercial finance with a focus on efficiency and value
• Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements
• Deliver accurate and timely financial reporting
• Collaborate with the leadership team at our Raydon HQ to guide strategic decisions
• Mentor and manage a high‑performing finance team of 10

What You’ll Need

You’ll bring an ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent qualification, a proven track record in senior commercial finance leadership, strong board‑level influence, and sharp analytical skills to turn data into strategy—ideally based in or near the Colchester area.
