Robert Half Talent Solutions are seeking a Finance Director for a dynamic manufacturing organisation based near Cardiff.

Role Overview:

The Finance Director is a strategic business partner responsible for leading the financial and commercial agenda across the manufacturing operations. This role combines financial stewardship with commercial insight to drive profitability, cost efficiency, and value creation. The successful candidate will influence decision-making across supply chain, operations, and customer engagement, ensuring financial strategies align with business goals and market dynamics.

Key Responsibilities:

Commercial Strategy & Business Partnering

  • Lead financial planning and analysis to support commercial decision-making, operational strategies, and performance.
  • Partner with , operations, and supply chain teams to evaluate commercial opportunities and risks.
  • Drive margin improvement initiatives through efficiency analysis and profitability reviews.

    • Operational Finance Leadership

  • Oversee site-level financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Drive cost control and working capital optimisation across manufacturing and logistics.
  • Lead investment appraisals and capital expenditure planning to support growth and efficiency.

    • Performance Management & Reporting

  • Deliver timely, accurate, and insightful financial reporting to senior leadership and stakeholders.
  • Develop and monitor KPIs that link financial performance to operational outcomes.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, and audit requirements.

    • Leadership & Transformation

  • Lead and develop a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Champion digital finance tools and analytics to enhance decision-making and reporting.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes, and market developments to inform strategy.

    • Required Qualifications:

  • ACA, ACCA, CIMA qualified or equivalent.
  • Significant experience in a senior finance role within a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • Proven track record of commercial finance leadership and strategic business partnering.

    A salary of up to £110,000 plus bonus and a significant benefits package.
