The College is seeking an outstanding Finance Director to play a central role in shaping the future of one of the UK’s leading independent schools. Reporting to and partnering with the newly appointed Bursar (COO), the postholder will provide the financial vision and leadership to secure the College’s long-term success. This is a rare opportunity to combine strategic influence with hands-on impact, ensuring robust finances, effective investment and innovative solutions that will enable the College’s ambitions to thrive. The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant with significant experience of leading finance functions in complex organisations. They will bring proven expertise in strategic planning, investment appraisal, statutory and management reporting, and the leadership of high-performing teams. Commercially astute, digitally confident, and collaborative in style, they will combine rigorous financial stewardship with the ability to inspire trust, communicate with clarity, and contribute purposefully to the wider life and mission of Marlborough College.
