Position: Finance Director HVAC Wholesaler

Our client is a prominent HVAC wholesaler with a comprehensive national branch network, employing 250 staff and generating sales of approximately £100 million. The company is widely recognised for its dedication to excellence in distribution and customer service, supporting a broad and varied client base across the United Kingdom.

Job Overview

This role is integral to shaping the organisation s financial strategy and operations. Reporting to the Managing Director and Board of Directors, you will provide leadership to a team of 15 finance professionals and assume primary responsibility for the company s IT infrastructure, championing both financial stewardship and digital innovation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Formulate and execute financial strategies that align with the company s growth plans.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Oversee all financial functions, including budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, statutory reporting, and compliance.
  • Deliver insightful analysis and comprehensive reports to support informed decision-making by the Managing Director and Board.
  • Manage relationships with external auditors, banks, and other key financial partners.
  • Hold overarching responsibility for IT systems and infrastructure, collaborating closely with IT partners to ensure secure and effective operations and drive digital transformation efforts.
  • Drive process optimisation and operational efficiency within both finance and IT functions.
  • Support business development initiatives, including investment assessments and branch performance evaluations.

Candidate Profile & Experience

  • ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent professional accounting qualification (essential).
  • Extensive experience in senior finance roles, ideally within the wholesale, distribution, or related sectors.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities with a history of managing and developing finance teams.
  • Strong technical proficiency in accounting and financial analysis.
  • Experience managing IT systems or leading digital transformation projects is highly desirable.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the capability to influence at board level.
  • Commercially aware, results-driven, and resilient.
  • Upholds the highest standards of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail.
