White Horse is partnering exclusively with a leading software group, supporting their search for a Finance Director.
This role is to lead financial operations across a portfolio of UK-based technology businesses. This is an exceptional opportunity to join a high-performing organisation backed by a listed parent.
The Role
Reporting to the UK CEO, you’ll lead and develop the finance function across multiple business units, ensuring robust financial management, governance, and compliance. You’ll play a key role in driving performance improvement, supporting growth initiatives, and leading the financial due diligence and integration of newly acquired entities as part of an active M&A strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all financial operations across the group, ensuring timely and accurate consolidated reporting under IFRS.
- Develop a scalable finance organisation, embedding best practice processes and systems.
- Partner with senior leadership to deliver clear business plans, forecasts, and performance insights.
- Drive continuous improvement in ROIC, working capital, and profitability.
- Lead financial due diligence, integration, and post-acquisition processes for new acquisitions.
- Strengthen governance, controls, and risk management across the group.
- Oversee project accounting, pricing analysis, and revenue recognition (IFRS 15).
About You
- Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent) with significant post-qualification experience.
- Proven track record in a senior finance leadership role, ideally as a CFO or Finance Director.
- Strong background in multi-entity consolidation and reporting under IFRS and UK GAAP.
- Experience in software, technology, or a related sector.
- Confident leading M&A financial due diligence and integration.
- Hands‑on, energetic, and pragmatic – equally comfortable operating strategically and at detail level.
- Excellent communicator with the ability to influence at all levels.
