The Role

As Finance Director, you will play a pivotal role in shaping financial operating strategy and ensuring the continued profitability and sustainability of the business. Reporting directly to the CFO, you will oversee a team of 3–4 Financial Controllers and act as a key partner to the Board, providing insight, challenge, and guidance on both financial and commercial decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of 3–4 Financial Controllers, ensuring delivery of robust financial management across the business.
• Report to and work closely with the CFO, providing strategic financial insight and recommendations.
• Drive best-in-class financial control, reporting, and compliance across the group.
• Develop and implement strategic financial plans to support growth, profitability, and cash flow.
• Provide commercial analysis to inform decision-making on pricing, margins, supplier negotiations, and investment opportunities.
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling, ensuring accuracy and alignment with business objectives.
• Manage relationships with banks, auditors, and external stakeholders.
• Act as a key member of the Leadership Team, contributing to broader business strategy.

About You

• A qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with significant post-qualification experience at Finance Director level, ideally within the IT reseller, distribution, or technology sector.
• Proven track record in driving commercial and operational improvements in a high-growth environment.
• Strong leadership skills, with experience managing multiple Financial Controllers or senior finance professionals.
• Excellent communication and influencing abilities, able to partner effectively across all levels of the business.
• Hands-on, adaptable, and commercially minded, with a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities in the IT reseller market.
