Broster Buchanan are delighted to be partnering with a Bedfordshire based organisation who are looking to recruit a Finance Director, on a permanent basis.

Reporting to the CFO, this role will be responsible for the leadership and strategic direction of the finance team, to provide a comprehensive accounting and management reporting service to the business.

Financial and General Management

  • Business and financial strategy and planning, monitoring, management and reporting, including management and development of policies, systems, processes and personnel involved.
  • Ensuring Finance business partnering in place for a number of non-finance/operational teams.
  • Provide insightful analysis and recommendations to the senior management team to support decision making and drive growth
  • Leading on the annual budgeting process and tracking key performance indicators.
  • Produce timely, accurate and reconciled financial and management reports that meet the legal requirements with clear commentary that reflects the state of the business.
  • Presenting financial reports and analysis to executives, board members, investors and other stakeholders.
  • Using the ERP and other systems, review non-payroll expenditure, stock, banking, pensions, and other financial activities and monitor their effectiveness.
  • Assessing and evaluating key drivers of the business with the goal of helping the company improve its performance.
  • Focus on identifying and driving efficiencies, and ensuring the improvement to the bottom line.
  • Ownership and clear understanding of all Fixed Assets accounting.
  • Overall working capital management, reporting and actions.
  • Review and improve internal controls, with ownership of the internal audit requirements.
  • Manage Insurances, local and Group submissions.
  • Oversee all tax and regulatory compliances including VAT and the annual Tax Pack.
  • Meet all statutory requirements for the financial and legal management of the organisation.
  • Liaise with external bodies, such as banks, auditors and lawyers.
  • To lead or support as appropriate all business improvement projects as required.
  • Accountability for full documentation of processes and procedure within the overall finance team.
  • Operating in close cooperation with the Global Finance team, representing the company as required in subsidiary organisations.

Team Leadership and Management

  • Leading and developing a team of finance professionals covering billing and collections, accounts payable, financial control and financial planning & analysis
  • Providing leadership, decision making and advice for all finance related decision making in UKI
  • Establish and monitor responsibilities, targets, and expectations with the department to achieve the team and company objectives in line with the company’s performance management processes.
  • Organisational development to manage and motivate the department to ensure optimal performance.
  • Manage plans and resources to meet customer and business requirements.
  • Ensure that the reporting staff are adequately and continuously developed to perform their role.
  • Ensure complete ownership and resolution of escalated problems.
  • Ensure the department operates within all company policies, procedures and standards. Be aware of, and meet all Ireland legal and regulatory requirements and relevant company policies.
  • Implementing policies, procedures and controls to ensure regulatory compliance and sustainable business growth

The successful Candidate will be a Professionally Qualified individual with extensive experience in a senior finance leadership role. They will be a hands-on leader who is willing to roll up their sleeves and do whatever is necessary to ensure the Company’s success, whilst having the ability to create results driven, team or oriented environment.

Previous experience with large ERP systems such as SAP, Cognos and Hyperion is a must for this role, and any experience of ERP implementation would be highly desireable.

Our Client is offering a Salary of £110,000 - £125,000 + Car Allowance + Exec level benefits.
