Finance Director - £140,000-£170,000 + Benefits Package

This high-growth SME are seeking their new knowledgeable and engaging CFO/Finance Director who will have experience of putting foundations in place for future growth. You will ideally have had experience within a stock and/or logistics business, and have an existing understanding of the relevant challenges within this area.

As the new Chief Finance Officer/Director of Finance, you will play a key part in the next chapter of this story. You will work as a strong and strategic partner internally with all areas of the business, both internally and externally, and you will be highly analytical with strong commercial instincts and relevant experience.

There is a culture of constant improvement, and you will be reviewing, identifying and driving the change to increase productivity and ensure robust controls are in place. You will ensure that the finance function is embedded with all material decisions both at the planning and the implementation stage.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership for the finance function with a commercially-minded, hands-on approach as required
  • Partner with senior leadership to support growth strategy and decision-making
  • Develop and mentor a small finance team; drive productivity and robust controls
  • Embed finance considerations in planning and implementation of material business decisions
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders and the board to provide insight for decision making
  • Challenge appropriately with independence of thought and strong personal integrity

About You

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, CIMA or ACCA)
  • Experience in logistics or a stock-based business is beneficial
  • Excellent Excel and systems skills
  • Excellent management skills and a superb communicator
  • Pragmatic, collaborative style and willingness to get into the weeds when needed
