Eton Bridge Partners have been retained on a confidential search to appoint a UK&I Finance Director for a FTSE 250 business based in the North/North East.

This role, reporting directly to the Group CFO and sitting on the UK&I Leadership Team, will provide critical financial leadership across the UK and Ireland business, ensuring robust strategic planning, operational performance, and financial transformation at scale.

The position is a key hire to support the company’s ambitious growth agenda, requiring both strong commercial acumen and a proven track record of transformation delivery.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Lead all aspects of UK&I financial management, including P&L ownership, balance sheet oversight, and cash flow management.
  • Drive financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes aligned to the group’s 3-year strategy.
  • Translate financial data into actionable insights, supporting performance optimisation and investment discipline.
  • Ensure strong financial controls, compliance, and risk management across the UK&I operations.
  • Provide strategic finance support to the CEO and COO, influencing commercial decision-making.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing team of 6 direct reports, fostering a culture of accountability and excellence.
  • Play a key role in M&A activity, including due diligence, integration planning, and post-deal performance tracking.
  • Partner with IT, ESG, and Internal Audit teams to align finance initiatives with wider corporate objectives.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with significant post-qualification experience in senior finance roles.
  • A proven track record leading finance in FTSE, complex, multi-site or international businesses.
  • Experience delivering finance transformation, including automation, digital tools, and AI-enabled reporting.
  • Strong commercial acumen, with experience supporting strategic growth, margin management, and working capital improvement.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire diverse teams, raising performance standards.
  • Confident and credible communicator with experience engaging boards, investors, and senior operational leadership.
  • Location: North/North East (hybrid)
