Role Profile

Our client is looking to recruit an experienced Fleet Director to join their business. The role will mean working for an established Logistics business who are continuing to grow and have multiple DC's across the UK. Managing the VMU's and a small Fleet team, your role will involve travel across the network so a flexible approach & willingness to be visible across sites is needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the overall Fleet strategy ensuring 100% compliance with all O'License, DVSA and regulatory requirements
  • Lead Fleet procurement function across fleet service providers for parts, tyres, fuels etc
  • Manage and drive efficiency of VMU functions
  • Responsible for overall fleet maintenance, audits, inspections etc
  • Manage relationships with fleet suppliers, insurers etc to ensure optimal service
  • Oversee driver compliance and tachograph systems, ensuring regulations are strictly adhered to
  • Develop and report on Fleet KPI's to senior leadership team
  • Drive CI initiatives and innovation across the fleet and wider Transport function, including systems, process and sustainability

    • Key Skills & Experiences

  • Proven experience working at a senior level specifically in Fleet leadership
  • Must have experience managing large HGV fleets, ideally multi-site
  • Compliance focused, with strong knowledge of DVSA, O'License and WTD regulations
  • Influential leadership with strong organisational and negotiation skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Willingness to travel across the network in line with business needs
