Job Title : Interim Finance Director

Day Rate : £750 - £1000 per day

The Opportunity

We have an immediate requirement for an experienced Interim Finance Director to join the leadership team of a well-established business for an initial 6-month assignment. As Interim Finance Director, you will be a key member of the senior management team and strategic partner to the Managing Director. This is a highly visible role, responsible for leading the finance function, driving performance, ensuring robust financial reporting, and providing commercial insight and challenge to support strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

As Interim Finance Director, you will: Partner with the Managing Director and leadership team, providing strategic financial insight, challenge and support

Lead the preparation of forecasts, budgets, and financial plans, ensuring accuracy and commercial relevance

Review and challenge all aspects of performance, including costs, revenue, margin recognition, and cash flow

Ensure a strong financial control environment and compliance with accounting standards and group policies

Present clear and robust financial reporting, including monthly board packs

Manage business unit cash and deliver accurate cashflow forecasting

Oversee financial management of joint ventures and key projects

Lead, support, and develop the finance team, ensuring delivery of best practice

Support due diligence on acquisitions, investments, or new business opportunities

Work closely with group finance to ensure consistency of policies and processes

What We're Looking For

Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)

Proven track record of operating as a Finance Director in a commercial, fast-paced business

Strong experience in business partnering and influencing at Board level

Robust technical accounting knowledge including IFRS and joint venture accounting

Demonstrable experience of driving improvements in controls, processes and reporting

Effective leader with experience managing finance teams in a matrix structure

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
