Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Sales Director to oversee our EMEA (Europe, Middle East, Africa) and APAC (Asia-Pacific) regions for the Game Developers Conference (GDC), the world's premier event for the B2B games market ecosystem. GDC takes place every March in San Francisco and attracts nearly 30,000 attendees, over 400 exhibitors/sponsors, and hundreds of press & analysts.  This hybrid role combines direct management of key international accounts, along with management & coaching of regional Account Managers in Europe and Asia.

Key Responsibilities

• Directly manage and grow relationships with high-value international accounts, including country pavilions and major EMEA & APAC-based industry partners
• Lead, mentor, and develop Account Manager direct reports to retain current clients and drive new business activity.
• Develop and execute regional sales strategies aligned with GDC's global objectives
• Meet and exceed revenue targets for international exhibitors, partners, and sponsors to do business at the GDC San Francisco event
• Have a strong partnerships, activations, sponsorships and event experiences mindset and skillset
• Drive GDC Digital & GameDeveloper.com revenue with EMEA & APAC companies
• Represent GDC at regional industry events to build brand presence and make connections
• Collaborate with marketing, content and event operations teams to create tailored solutions for international clients
• Monitor regional market trends and competitor activities to inform strategic decisions

• Proven sales/sales management and business development experience preferably in gaming, technology, or events industry
• Proven track record of meeting and exceeding revenue targets
• Proven track record of excellence reporting and forecasting
• Understanding of the gaming industry ecosystem, and aptitude to stay in tune with industry trends
• Excellent negotiation and relationship-building skills
• Superior communication and presentation abilities
• Superior people leadership skills and cross-departmental collaboration skills
• Strategic thinking and analytical capabilities
• Experience in developing and executing business strategies
• Proficiency in CRM systems and sales tools
