Life. Unlimited. At Smith+Nephew we design and manufacture technology that takes the limits off living.
Are you ready to lead strategic IT portfolio governance in a global, regulated environment? This is your opportunity to shape how we prioritise, execute and deliver technology initiatives that drive real business value. Join us in the UK or Poland and help us transform how we manage our IT investments.
What you will be doing
As Director of IT Portfolio & PMO Governance, you’ll be at the heart of our IT strategy. You’ll own the portfolio management process, ensuring every initiative is aligned with business goals, regulatory standards and resource capacity. You’ll lead governance across all IT projects, partnering closely with Project Delivery and Finance to drive efficient execution and value realisation.
From facilitating executive portfolio reviews to developing governance frameworks and dashboards, you’ll bring clarity and structure to complex programmes. You’ll guide delivery teams through planning, risk management and reporting, ensuring cross-functional alignment and removing bottlenecks. Your leadership will help us deliver smarter, faster and with greater impact.
What does success look like?
Success in this role means a well-governed IT portfolio that delivers measurable business outcomes. You’ll see improved throughput, reduced cycle times and enhanced stakeholder satisfaction. Your dashboards will tell a clear story of performance, risk and value. Teams will be empowered by consistent processes and supported by your strategic oversight. And most importantly, our technology investments will be aligned to what matters most.
