The Hunter Shore Group are delighted to be working on behalf of one of the worlds most recognizable consumer product brands as they search for a Laboratory Director to lead their UK laboratory ensuring the highest standards of compliance, product integrity, and continuous improvement. Please note the role is site based 5 days per week and the location is on a main transportation line to the South West of London.

Roles and Responsibilities: Lead and oversee daily QC laboratory operations, ensuring raw materials, in-process, and finished goods consistently meet strict quality standards. Review and release laboratory test data while safeguarding regulatory compliance (cGMP, FDA, HC, global standards). Manage laboratory equipment lifecycle, including budgeting, calibration, qualification, and troubleshooting. Drive continuous improvement and audit readiness across laboratory processes. Mentor and develop QC staff. Partner with suppliers, R&D, and operations to resolve testing issues and support product innovation.

The successful candidate: Will possess a Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline (e.g., microbiology, analytical chemistry). Have at least 8 years’ managerial experience in quality control labs within consumer goods, medical devices, pharmaceutical, or similar industries. Will have a proven track record of running multiple labs i n a regulated (cGMP) environment. Will have strong expertise in laboratory compliance, data integrity, and regulatory audits (FDA, HC, or other global agencies). Should be able to show success in developing SOPs and driving corrective & preventive action (CAPA) programs.
